City of Bagley under curfew

The City of Bagley has a city-wide curfew in effect, enforceable through May 10.

According to an ordinance passed by the Bagley City Council last Friday,  the curfew is from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each day.

People must stay in their homes and not travel or congregate on city streets, sidewalks parking lots and waterways.

Exceptions are provided for essential workers including first responders, health care workers, utility workers and the rest of the essential businesses and services identified in the Governor’s executive order.

The Bagley Police Department says the ordinance was enacted to protect people, property and businesses, and a recent increase of property crimes prompted the curfew.

Violators could face a misdemeanor charge, which could include a maximum fine of $1,000 or a maximum sentence of 90 days.
