Juvenile seriously wounded in Ridgeway shooting

Bemidji Police officers are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting last night on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue.

Police Captain David LaZella says officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, on report of several gunshots inside the building at 2830 Ridgeway Avenue.

Sanford Bemidji notified police that a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound had been brought to the facility by a private party.

The juvenile was unable to provide a description of the suspect.

The boy was flown to a Fargo trauma center where he remains in serious condition.

LaZella says there does not appear to be any threat to the public.
