Victim in Monday’s apparent homicide identified

The Bemidji Police Department announced today that the victim in Monday’s apparent homicide has been identified.

According to a release from Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin, 20-year-old Lupe Rosillo was killed Monday night, in what has been ruled a homicide by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.

Rosillo’s cause of death was determined to be a fatal gunshot wound to the torso.

Antonio Vincente Parkhurst was arrested Wednesday in connection to this case.

Law enforcement responded to the Sanford Bemidji Hospital Monday night around 10:30 p.m., on a report of a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound. Within minutes, they also responded to the 1100 block of Minnesota Ave. NW and found Rosillo dead.

Parkhurst reportedly fled the scene that night on foot with a handgun.

Parkhurst is in custody awaiting second degree murder charges.
