30 NTC students awarded over $37,000 in scholarships

The Northwest Technical College Foundation awarded $37,500 in scholarships to students at a virtual ceremony earlier this month.

According to a release, these scholarships help students with education expenses as they fulfill their educational goals.

Around 30 students were awarded scholarships and most received $1,000 scholarships.

Almost half of the scholarships went to students who call Bemidji their home.

The NTC Foundation’s dispersed one $1,000 general scholarship, the Fred Breen $2,000 scholarship went to three students, the $500 Paul Bunyan Communications Scholarship went to one student, the Otter Tail Power Company $1,500 scholarship went to two students, the Paul Bunyan Vintage Auto Club $1,000 scholarship went to one student, and the George W. Neilson Foundation $1,000 scholarships went to 20 students.


Larissa Donovan is the News Director for the stations of Paul Bunyan Broadcasting and has been, almost without interruption, since Election Day 2016. She covers events and issues in north central Minnesota, which include local government, crime, courts, education, environment and social issues. She studied communications at Bemidji State University and received her degree in 2018.
