Akeley woman facing charges after crashing SUV into apartment building while drunk

A 43-year-old Akeley woman is facing charges after crashing her SUV into her apartment building earlier this month.

In a release, Hubbard County Sheriff Cory Aukes said that deputies arrived at the Village Apartments in Akeley about two weeks ago and found Katie Roth sitting in a wheelchair next to her crashed vehicle.

Roth told deputies she was drinking vodka at the Akeley Municipal Liquor Store when she drove home.

The investigation indicated that Roth drove over concrete parking blocks and caused extensive damage to the building.

Roth’s alcohol concentration was .21, more than twice the legal limit.

Sheriff Aukes said she was booked into jail and charged with 3rd degree DUI.
