Applicants sought for deer hunt in city limits

The City of Bemidji will accept applications for the city-wide deer archery hunts scheduled this fall.

The hunts fall within the regular state archery season, Sept. 17 through Dec. 31.

The hunts will be at the Bemidji Regional Airport, West Bemidji in Ward 4, and northeast Lake Bemidji in Ward 5.

Since these are considered special hunts, participants will be able to harvest up to five deer, but statewide bag limits still apply with a one-buck limit.

Applicants must have passed an archery proficiency test within the last three years and will need to submit an application and fee by July 29.

Applications and more information are available on the city’s website, with paper applications available at City Hall.
