House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler says some of the biggest issues facing the state this year are COVID recovery and public safety.
Winkler (DFL-Golden Valley) is not running for re-election to his House seat this year. He will instead be running for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
Winkler is a Bemidji High School graduate and has ties to this area.
The state is projected to have a $7.7 billion budget surplus, with DFL priorities including COVID-related recovery and relief for small businesses and families.
Winkler says the rise of violent crime across the nation and in the state is unacceptable and the DFL is proposing a comprehensive approach to address criminal justice issues.
