A Backus woman was killed and three others were injured in a Cass County crash Wednesday morning.
The state patrol says Stephen Ertl was northbound on Highway 371 in a Chevy Suburban and crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a Ford Escape.
The Ford’s passenger, 82-year-old Susan Bye-Elyea, was pronounced dead at the scene with no health care facility listed.
The Ford driver, 86-year-old Leo Elyea, was transported to North Memorial Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Both Chevy occupants were transported to St. Joseph’s for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Backus Fire Department assisted at the scene.
