Bagley man sentenced to over 30 years for role in 2020 homicide

A Bagley man was sentenced to over 30 years in prison for his role in a 2020 homicide in Beltrami County.

Belcourt

According to court documents, 35-year-old Devin Belcourt entered a guilty plea earlier this month and was sentenced Wednesday.

Belcourt and two other defendants, 40-year-old Travis Gunning and 33-year-old Rebecca Lockman, conspired to commit an aggravated robbery at a Trengove Road address in May 2020.

The crime escalated to an exchange of gunfire, fatal to one of the victims, as well as an injury to Gunning.

When law enforcement arrived at the scene, a structure at the address was on fire.

Lockman and Gunning were arrested in Minot, North Dakota after seeking medical care for Gunning’s gunshot wound, and Belcourt was arrested a few days later.

Gunning and Lockman have entered guilty pleas for their respective roles in the case and are scheduled to be sentenced in a couple of weeks.

Belcourt received credit for nearly 3 years of time served in local custody.
