BCFS seeks community help with a new roof

The Bemidji Community Food Shelf is asking for community support to help with the costs of a new roof.

According to a release, the BCFS learned their roof was completely worn out last summer. The cost of a new roof is $77,000, and to date, the BCFS has raised about $60,000 for the project.

BCFS President Jim Fretheim says, “This is the biggest single expense we’ve faced in our 38 year history, aside from the purchase of our current property.” Donors can contribute online through the website at http://www.bcfsmn.org or the organization’s Facebook page.

Checks can be mailed to BCFS, PO Box 3118, Bemidji, MN 56619, with “SOS” or “Roof Project” in the memo line.
