Becker County authorities searching for hit-and-run driver

DETROIT LAKES– Authorities in Becker County are searching for a driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash from Monday evening.

According to a release, the crash was around 7 p.m. and involved a car versus an ATV on County Road 158. Officers discovered the car, a 1999 Mercury Marquis, but found that the driver had fled the scene.

The 27-year-old male driver of the Polaris Ranger was unresponsive, and passed away as a result of his injuries after transport to the Fargo Hospital.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the White Earth Police Department or the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
