Beltrami Board meets again next week for the last time of 2022

The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners will meet again next week to take care of the final business of 2022.

Items on the agendas include Headwaters Regional Development Center’s report, a strategic plan for handling Aquatic Invasive Species, as well as an update from Northern Township.

During the board’s work session, a township representative will discuss the current status and next steps for a potential water and sewer project along the Birchmont roadway.

County Engineer Bruce Hasbargen will also discuss delaying a project in that area.

The project is slated for 2024 to address its high use for bicyclists and pedestrians.

The section of Birchmont Beach Road has around 30 residents and can have more than 2,000 road users a day. H

asbargen says the road should last longer with some pothole maintenance if the board wanted to delay the project to accommodate the potential water and sewer project.
