Beltrami County Board meetings go on the road to Eckles Township

The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners will take their next meeting on the road Tuesday.

The meetings will begin at 3 p.m. at Eckles Town Hall.

In the work session, County Auditor JoDee Treat is recommending the county board decline to authorize a DMV office in the City of Blackduck.

Driver and Vehicle Services approved the site for Blackduck, but Treat is recommending the county decline so the Blackduck City Council, which submitted the initial application, can authorize the appointment of a deputy registrar.

The county board will then discuss their fund balance policy, with Treat and Administrator Tom Barry recommending the commissioners set the minimum target range between four and six months of budgeted expenditures.

The prepared resolution that will potentially be voted on in the regular meeting describes a five-month expenditure balance.

County Engineer Bruce Hasbargen is also scheduled to discuss current and future road projects in the Eckles Township area.
