A Beltrami County Jail inmate was transferred to a Fargo hospital after an apparent suicide attempt.
According to a release from Beltrami County Sheriff Ernie Beitel, the unnamed inmate was found unresponsive by staff around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Corrections officers and medical staff immediately rendered aid before transporting them to the Sanford Bemidji ER.
The patient was then transferred to a Fargo area medical facility.
The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota BCA at the request of Sheriff Beitel.
In a statement from the BCA, the male inmate is on life support.
The incident remains under investigation.
