Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office warns of scam calls

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a scam call alert.

According to a release, the dispatch center received two separate reports of people receiving suspicious phone calls.

The caller reportedly claimed to be Chief Deputy Jarrett Walton threatening arrest for missing a federal court hearing.

The actual Chief Deputy Walton says the calls are fraudulent and not to provide scammers with information or give them money.
