A deputy in the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was recently recognized for arresting three drunk drivers in a single shift.

Deputy Nick Bender was presented the “Hat Trick” award from the Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety for his efforts last June.

“Every impaired driver arrest can equate to potentially saving someone’s life that could have been taken at the hands of a chemically impaired driver,” wrote Sheriff Ernie Beitel in a release.
