Bemidji Area Schools receives grant for stop arm cameras

Bemidji Area Schools was awarded a grant from the Minnesota Department of Safety.

According to a release, the grant will provide funding for the purchase and installation of stop arm camera systems on every bus within the district.

Education and awareness are part of the project to help drivers make the decision to obey the law and stop when the bus has its flashing lights and stop arms extended.

The cameras will help schools and law enforcement find violators and hold them accountable. Grants were awarded across the state, including Littlefork-Big Falls, Marshall, and Fillmore.
