The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to on Wednesday, May 20.
BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Family Crimes, 10:41 p.m.
Officer received a report of possible child abuse and initiated a traffic stop on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Officer observed that there were no small children inside, report unfounded.
Assault, 9:53 p.m.
Report of an assault in progress on Minnesota Ave. and 29th St. NW. Vehicle occupants were arrested.
Disorderly Conduct, 8:52 p.m.
Report of juveniles running through yards on the 900 block of America Ave. NW. Unable to locate juveniles.
Theft, 7:53 p.m.
Officer responded to an attempted theft on the 800 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Individual attempted to steal air conditioner. Air conditioner recovered, unable to locate suspect.
Welfare Check, 1:50 p.m.
An officer checked on an individual that appeared upset on the 600 block of Anne St. NW. The individual reported a disagreement with a significant other but requested no additional assistance.
Assault, 11:13 a.m.
Officer assisted BCSO on the 1300 block of Anne St. NW. One arrested.
Animal, 9:59 a.m.
Nuisance rabbits reported on the 1200 block of Exchange Ave. SE. Information given for local trapper.
Theft, 7:09 a.m.
Theft from vehicle reported on the 9th St. NW.
Theft, 6:01 a.m.
Theft from vehicle reported on the 1000 block of Mississippi Ave. NW.
DWI, 12:33 a.m.
Traffic stop on Pine Ridge Ave. and 23rd St. NW. Adult male arrested for DWI.
BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Welfare Check, 11:16 p.m.
Request to check welfare of a pedestrian on Highway 2 and Highway 89. Case handled by MN State Patrol.
Disorderly Conduct, 9:22 p.m.
Report of an unruly party at Moen’s campground on the 11800 block of Paper Birch Dr. NE in Tenstrike. Party dispersed and settled.
Burglary, 1:01 p.m.
Deputy took a report of a possible burglary on the 2200 block of Scorpio Ln. NE.
Assist, 12:43 p.m.
One arrested on the 2400 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE.
Fire, 8:25 a.m.
Reported structure fire in Battle River Township. Under investigation.
Assault, 4:44 a.m.
Deputies responded to a domestic and arrested a male for multiple charges on Archery Rd. NW.
