The Bemidji High School Speech Team was in third place out of 23 teams during the Grand Rapids Speech Fest last Saturday.
Four speakers were first in their category: Maya Lindquist in Original Oratory, Chloe Luce in Poetry, Maggie Loxtercamp in Prose, and Gwen Galloway in Informative.
Emily Jessen and Misha Montgomery brought home medals in Great Speeches, as did Evelyn Cordts in Extemporaneous Reading and Amy Frenzel in Discussion.
The team is preparing for the section tournament this Friday.
