Bemidji HRA receives funds

The Bemidji Housing and Redevelopment Authority was awarded $32,503 as part of CARES Act funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

According to a release, the $5.6 million in funding to 60 public housing authorities throughout Minnesota are designed to help low-income Minnesotans secure and retain affordable housing amid the pandemic.

“This funding will provide additional resources to public housing authorities to make sure people have a decent, safe, and affordable place to call home,” said HUD Secretary Ben Carson. “HUD continues to work with our public housing authorities to protect American families from this invisible enemy, including vulnerable residents in the Housing Choice Voucher Program.”

Koochiching County’s HRA received $16,102 in funding, Cass County’s HRA received $11,479, and Itasca County’s HRA received $36,082.
