Bemidji Jaycees Night we Light

The Bemidji Jaycees are preparing for another Night we Light Celebration.

The event is a two-day affair, with multiple new activities and displays.

On Friday, stop by Santa’s Workshop starting at 11 a.m., browse the Christmas Marketplace on the plaza in front of the Tourist Information Center, and stick around for the parade at 6 p.m. and lighting ceremony to follow.

The parade route will be from 8th to 3rd Streets on Beltrami Avenue, turning west on 3rd Street, then back north again on Minnesota Avenue.

The lighting ceremony will take place at Paul Bunyan Park near the giant tree (can’t miss it!). KB101’s Todd Haugen and author of this website Larissa Donovan will emcee the ceremony.

On Saturday, the Sanford Center is hosting a Skating Party  from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and another Christmas Marketplace will take place at the Sanford Center Plaza.

For new displays, snowflake decorations are adorning the lamp posts, Library Park will be illuminated for the first time since the early 2000s, and the lighted archway will return to the Park.

Paul Bunyan’s Christmas Tree has returned to Paul Bunyan Park, and this year, tune in to 97.1 FM while in the Park to listen to the music, while the tree lights up in rhythm.
