Bemidji man arrested as person of interest in attempted abduction

A 21-year-old Bemidji man was arrested as part of an attempted abduction investigation reported near Cameron Park.

Police Captain David LaZella said Michael Petersen was taken into custody after a comprehensive and thorough investigation into the attempted abduction reported in late June.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and Bemidji State University assisted with the investigation.
