Bemidji man pleads not guilty to falsely reporting a crime and other charges

A Bemidji man entered not guilty pleas to falsely reporting a crime and other charges.

Court documents allege that last May, 36-year-0ld Kevin Bannor fired a gun that struck his work vehicle and claimed that he was assaulted.

Investigators searched the area where Bannor said the assault took place for shell casings but found none.

Video evidence from the FedEx truck appears to show Bannor exiting the vehicle, the gunshots are heard, and audio from the video indicates Bannor saying that he “forgot the cartridges.”

Bannor appeared in court Monday to enter not guilty pleas for felony property damage, a firearms offense and falsely reporting a crime.

Bannor’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 3.
