Bemidji man seriously injured in Emmaville ATV crash

A Bemidji man was seriously injured in an ATV crash in Hubbard County Sunday.

According to a release from Sheriff Cory Aukes, deputies responded to County Road 4, north of Emmaville, on a report of an ATV accident with injuries.

Thirty-one-year-old Taylor Sells was identified as the driver, who was found severely injured and laying in the ditch. Sells’ injuries to the face were reportedly extensive, as the investigation found that Sells was operating a Polaris ATV at high speed when he collided with a driveway approach and was then airborne.

Sells’ face then struck the machine and he was thrown from the ATV.

According to Aukes, Sells was not wearing a helmet. He was airlifted from the crash scene to the Fargo Hospital.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s office will continue to investigate the incident.
