Bemidji Parks and Rec was a recipient of a Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association Award of Excellence in Marketing and Communications for their Social Distancing Education and Engagement Videos.
Last summer, the Bemidji Parks department partnered with Visit Bemidji for things like the trail of the “Silly Walk” at Paul Bunyan Park, the Story Walk at Library Park, and Butterfly trivia at Diamond Point.
Parks Director Marcia Larson said she and Visit Bemidji saw an opportunity amid the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage healthy outdoor activituies while practicing social distancing.
The department will be formally recognized at a Bemidji City Council meeting.
