Bemidji Police Department to resume downtown parking enforcement

The Bemidji Police Department will soon resume all parking enforcement in the downtown Bemidji area.

According to a release, the department was asked by the Downtown Business Association to enforce parking regulations as the downtown area is once again busy.

“As restrictions related to COVID 19 begin to ease, our downtown is becoming filled with people and cars,” said Chief of Police Mike Mastin in the release.

“This is a great thing and something we are all happy to see. However, as businesses begin to open up, finding a place to park is becoming difficult.”

Over this week, the BPD will educate and inform downtown patrons about the downtown parking restrictions.

Citations will resume July 7 at all 30 minute zones, 1 and 2 hour zones and all other parking related regulations on downtown streets between 1st and 8th Streets NW.
