Bemidji Public Affairs to review some retention and recruitment strategies

Bemidji’s Public Affairs Committee will review some retention and recruitment strategies.

According to a memo from City Manager Nate Mathews, committee and council action topics include changing City Hall hours and using ARP dollars to fund performance bonuses.

The suggested City Hall hour changes are 7:30 to 4:30 Monday through Thursday and closing at 1 p.m. on Fridays. The performance bonuses may range from $250 to $1,500 on a tiered scale.

Other topics include front-loading 80 hours of PTO for new hires, flex scheduling and work-from-home options, and an inflation adjustment to the payscale.

The Public Affairs Committee will meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at City Hall.
