Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 10/7-10/9

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Oct. 9.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, OCT. 9

Suspicious, 9:49 p.m.

Report of suspicious person who jumped a fence by a closed business on the 700 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. No criminal activity discovered.

Disorderly Conduct, 8:22 p.m.

Officers received a call about possible gunshots on Dewey Ave. NE. Officers responded to the area and heard popping noises similar to fireworks. Unable to locate any subjects with fireworks.

Suspicious, 8:03 p.m.

Officer responded to a suspicious person asleep on the caller’s porch on the 2500 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Subject was arrested for a local warrant.

Suspicious, 4:14 a.m.

Anonymous caller believed he heard glass breaking from someone breaking into a vehicle on the 1000 block of Washington Ave. S. Vehicle was found undamaged.

DWI, 2:07 a.m.

Adult female arrested for DWI on the 300 block of 6th St. NW.

SATURDAY, OCT. 8

DWI, 10:42 p.m.

Traffic stop on Irvine Ave. and 26th St. NW. Adult male driver arrested for suspicion of DWI.

Traffic Stop, 9:48 p.m.

Traffic stop for failure to maintain on Roosevelt Rd. and Red Barn Dr. SE. Juvenile driver arrested for warrant.

Suspicious, 5:57 p.m.

Officers received a call about suspicious juveniles at a local park on the 1100 block of Mississippi Ave. NW. Juveniles playing basketball and riding a scooter. Nothing suspicious observed.

Animal, 3:58 p.m.

Caller wants injured skunk removed from her property on the 2600 block of Minnesota Ave. NW. Animal left the area.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 8:52 a.m.

Attempted break-in to a vehicle on the 600 block of 34th St. NW. Subject did not get access to the vehicle.

FRIDAY, OCT. 7

Theft, 9:58 p.m.

Caller reported a theft of property from his vehicle on the 300 block of 23rd St. NE.

Theft, 7:54 p.m.

Officer took the report of a possible theft from a vehicle on the 1700 block of Bemidji Ave. N.

Assist, 2:01 p.m.

Elderly male made comments to MN Energy worker. Elderly male did not want workers on his property on the 1900 block of S. Lake Irving Dr. SW, at least not close to his home. Spoke with both parties, assist and advise. Homeowner was advised to speak with the company, worker was advised to call LE if he is having issues with customers and to advise his supervisor.

Traffic Stop, 12:05 a.m.

Traffic stop on Bemidji Ave. and 15th St. NE. Female individual placed under arrest for a warrant.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, OCT. 9

Welfare Check, 8:42 p.m.

Welfare check on a male party who crashed his vehicle on the 200 block of Cherry Blossom Ln. NE in Cass Lake. Unable to locate.

Accident, 8:41 p.m.

One vehicle accident on Old Silver Lake Rd. and Ten Lake Trl. E in Cass Lake. Vehicle unoccupied on deputies’ arrival.

Assault, 2:16 p.m.

Father contacted law enforcement to have his 18-year-old son removed from the Bemidji residence because he was going to call law enforcement to report child abuse. As a result of the complaint, the father was taken into custody for domestic assault by means of strangulation.

Suspicious, 1:10 p.m.

Complaint of an out-of-control adult male allegedly destroying property inside of his mobile home on the 9900 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

Assist, 3:51 a.m.

Assist DNR on Harvest Rd. and Everts Rd. NE. Male driver arrested for DWI.

SATURDAY, OCT. 8

DWI, 9:14 p.m.

Traffic stop on Roosevelt Rd. and Dorado Ln. SE in Cass Lake. Driving conduct/license plate light, female driver arrested for drug DWI and felony possession of a controlled substance.

Suspicious, 5:18 p.m.

Male arrested for out-of-county warrants on the 5000 block of Kappes Ln. SE in Cass Lake.

Theft, 1:42 p.m.

Theft of five political signs on the 13700 block of Wildwood Rd. NE. No witnesses or cameras placed.

Assault, 4:06 a.m.

Domestic assault and DANCO violation in Bemidji. One male arrested.

Theft, 3:36 a.m.

Report of a motor vehicle theft on the 8700 block of Country Club Rd. NE.

Disorderly Conduct, 1:42 a.m.

Disorderly conduct at Bartons Camp in Red Lake. One arrested.

FRIDAY, OCT. 7

Burglary, 11:32 a.m.

Third burglary of a cabin on the 20900 block of Lookout Tower Rd. NE in Hines.

Civil, 10:44 a.m.

Complaint of an individual wanting their ex significant other removed from the premises in Kelliher. The complainant advised that the ex currently resides at the residence and was intoxicated. Complainant was advised that law enforcement cannot remove someone from their own residence without a court order or if a crime had occurred.

Pursuit, 4:22 a.m.

Vehicle pursuit on Trengove Rd. and Northwood Rd. NW. One male arrested for fleeing in a motor vehicle, fleeing on foot and DWI.
