Bemidji Weekend Blotter 12/6-12/8

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, Dec. 6 through Sunday, Dec. 8.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 8

Suspicious, 9:35 p.m.

Officers responded to a suspicious male laying in the snow. Officers located the intoxicated male at his own residence on the 500 block of 6th Street SE. Subject was safe and going to bed. No action taken.

Accident, 7:34 p.m.

Officers responded to a three vehicle crash on Bemidji Avenue and 8th Street NW with unknown injuries.

Disorderly Conduct, 4:54 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a male party not wishing to leavea  residence on Cedar Lane NW. Party was given a courtesy ride home.

Property Damage, 4:29 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of property damage on the 800 block of 26th Street NW.

Suspicious, 9:40 a.m.

Caller reported finding what appears to be blood on the ground outside of an apartment building on Northern Cedar Avenue. Officer was unable to locate the source.

Assist, 2:31 a.m.

Officer assisted with scene security for a State Patrol traffic stop on Bemidji Avenue N and 11th Street NW. The passenger was provided with a courtesy ride. No further action.

DWI, 1:42 a.m.

Driver of a vehicle was placed under arrest for DWI on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive S.

SATURDAY, DEC. 6

Welfare Check, 9:17 p.m.

An officer checked on the welfare of an adult male laying on a sidewalk bench on the 400 block of Beltrami Avenue NW. Male was found to be fine. He walked to a business to make phone calls.

Trespass, 6:40 p.m.

Staff requested officer to remove an adult female from the emergency room lobby. The officer refused and placed the female on a 72 hour hold.

Medical, 5:41 p.m.

Caller reported an adult male was face down on ground outside of a residence on 10th Street and America Avenue. Subject was transported via EMS.

Assault, 11:32 a.m.

Report of two subjects fighting on the 800 block of Mississippi Avenue NW. Both were cited for minor consumption. One was arrested on an A & D order from probation.

Assist, 4:48 a.m.

Officers responded to assist another agency with a search warrant on the 500 block of Wood Avenue SE. Five were arrested.

SWAT, 2:29 a.m.

SWAT Call out on the 500 block of Wood Avenue SE. An adult female was arrested.

Suspicious, 2:20 a.m.

Report of suspicious activity on 11th Street and America Avenue NW. Complainant saw a male running from the area. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anything suspicious or the male running.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:03 a.m.

Report of intoxicated individuals harassing others outside a business on the 300 block of Beltrami Avenue as they were not allowed in the business due to their intoxication levels. Individuals were asked not to harass others and to organize a safe ride for themselves.

FRIDAY, DEC. 6

Suspicious, 8:40 p.m.

Report of two suspicious males possibly following a female and having a firearm. Officers checked on two individuals meeting the description on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW. No firearms were located during the investigation.

Suspicious, 6:55 p.m.

Officer stopped a male riding a bicycle with no reflective light on 1st Street E and Walborg Avenue NE. Officer arrested an adult male.

911, 5:29 p.m.

Officers responded to a 911 stating caller was hungry. Caller was advised that is not what 911 is for.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 10:13 a.m.

Vehicle tamper on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue SE.

Theft, 8:42 a.m.

Windows broken and Louis Vuitton satchel stolen from a parked car on 5th Street SE.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 7:59 a.m.

Tampering with a motor vehicle inside an unlocked garage on 4th Street SE.

Report of vehicle tampering on 4th Street SE.

Vehicle tamper reported on 4th Street SE.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 7:16 a.m.

Vehicle tamper reported on the 600 block of Scott Avenue SE.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 6:41 a.m.

Report of an occupied vehicle running and parked in a yard at a residence on Saint Onge Drive. Driver was cited for careless driving and open bottle.

Theft, 4:41 a.m.

Theft reported on the 400 block of Wood Avenue SE.

Suspicious, 2:19 a.m.

Female reported possible seismic activity as picture fell off a wall. Complainant did not wish to be contacted. No action taken.

DWI, 2:12 a.m.

Traffic stop on 5th Street and Mississippi Avenue. Adult male arrested for DWI.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 8

Assault, 10:23 p.m.

Deputies responded to a domestic assault on Cornflower Court SE. One male was arrested.

Suspicious, 10:09 p.m.

Deputy checked on a vehicle parked in a driveway on Hart Lane NW, nothing needed.

Animal, 9:57 p.m.

Deputies responded to a report of animal neglect on Belmont Street NW. One male was arrested for a warrant and violation of an order for protection.

Suspicious, 5:16 p.m.

Deputies checked on a suspicious vehicle with the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department on Kangas Curve Rd SE in Cass Lake. Vehicle was found to be unrelated to recent burglaries.

Suspicious, 4:48 p.m.

Loud explosion reported on Hornet Road and Lanet Road NE in Blackduck. DNR Conservation Officer discovered that a beaver dam was removed some distance away from reporting party’s home.

Suspicious, 1:42 a.m.

Suspicious vehicle on the 1100 block of Paul Bunyan Drive S. Bemidji Police Department arrested driver for DWI.

SATURDAY, DEC. 7

DWI, 8:13 p.m.

Traffic stop on Division Street W. Driver was arrested for drug DWI and 5th degree controlled substance possession.

Suspicious, 7:46 p.m.

Checked on vehicle at Tamarack River access in Waskish.

Suspicious, 7:39 p.m.

Suspicious activity reported on Kangas Curve Road SE in Cass Lake.

Parking, 2:33 p.m.

Reporting party reporting on parking issues at and near a resort on Upper Red Lake.

Warrant, 11:52 a.m.

Request for a welfare/warrant check on Windy Hill Lane SW. Two adult males arrested on felony warrants.

Suspicious, 4:28 a.m.

Report of a male lying in the roadway on the 8700 block of Roosevelt Road SE. Male given a courtesy ride.

Agency Assist, 3:27 a.m.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle accident on Anne Street and Highway 71 NW. An adult female was arrested for DUI.

SWAT, 2:29 a.m.

Search warrant was executed on the 500 block of Wood Avenue SE and several subjects were arrested.

FRIDAY, DEC. 6

Warrant, 12:43 p.m.

Warrant arrest on Highway 2 and Washington avenue S.

Sex Crimes, 10:08 a.m.

Criminal sex investigation.

Traffic Stop, 3:56 a.m.

Male arrested for 4th Degree DWI and 3rd Degree possession of a controlled substance on Carr Lake Road and Ann Harbor Lane SW.
