Bemidji Weekend Blotter: 2/21-2/23

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, Feb. 23.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, FEB. 23

Violations/Court Orders, 10:37 p.m.

Male arrested for DANCO violation on the 1400 block of Beltrami Ave. NW.

Assist, 9:31 p.m.

Assisted foster home parent with child hiding something in his pants. Determined to be a Tupperware full of change and nothing dangerous.

DWI, 7:30 p.m.

Traffic stop on 5th St. and Irvine Ave. NW. One arrested for DWI.

Theft, 2:29 p.m.

Report of a stolen vehicle on the 200 block of 3rd St. NW. Determined to be parked nearby, unfounded report.

Accident, 4:19 a.m.

Vehicle reported crashed into a snowbank on the 1800 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Driver arrested for DWI.

Disorderly Conduct, 12:52 a.m.

Male arrested for DWI on the 1800 block of 17th St. NE. Three others referred for minor consume.

Suspicious, 12:34 a.m.

Caller’s children reported a puddle of possible blood near the Paul Bunyan Trail. The puddle was determined to be automotive fluid.

SATURDAY, FEB. 22

Assault, 8:33 p.m.

Male arrested for burglary, domestic assault, no contact order violation and a warrant on the 2500 block of Minnesota Ave. NW.

Traffic Stop, 4:43 p.m.

Traffic stop on Pine Ridge Ave. and 30th St. NW. Individual with a warrant was placed under arrest without incident and no other charges. He was transported to the Beltrami County Jail and booked without incident.

Disturbing the Peace, 4:21 p.m.

Complainant reported neighbors speaking to her through “devices” and harassing her on the 700 block of 32nd St. NW.

Theft, 2:37 p.m.

Stolen vehicle reported on the 500 block of America Ave. NW.

Burglary, 10:25 a.m.

Officer responded to a burglary on the 700 block of 28th St. NW. Individual will provide a list of items stolen.

Welfare Check, 3:13 a.m.

Female arrested on a warrant during a welfare check on Bemidji Ave. and 6th St. NW.

Family Crimes, 2:49 a.m.

An officer placed a 72-hour protective hold on a newborn child at the hospital.

Disturbing the Peace, 1:41 a.m.

Officers called to a residence on the 600 block of 19th St. NW for a large party and possibly a male with a firearm. A firearm was not determined to be involved and subjects were warned.

Drugs, 12:34 a.m.

Large amount of marijuana located and dropped off at the Law Enforcement Center.

FRIDAY, FEB. 21

Disturbing the Peace, 11:56 p.m.

Officer located a loud party and warned renters for disorderly house on the 3600 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Non-tenants were directed to vacate.

Disorderly Conduct, 11:03 p.m.

Officers responded to a fight involving a knife. Two were arrested.

DWI, 5:27 p.m.

Individual was placed under arrest for DWI on the 500 block of 26th St. NW.

Theft, 4:29 p.m.

Theft of electronics reported on the 700 block of Lincoln Ave. SE.

Assist, 4:09 p.m.

Officers assisted probation with an arrest.

Assist, 3:20 p.m.

Subject was fine and did not want to speak with social services. She said she is in the process of moving to California.

Traffic Stop, 11:36 a.m.

Traffic stop on the 2600 block of Delton Ave. NW. One arrested.

Violations/Court Orders, 1:05 a.m.

Male arrested for a DANCO violation, female issued citation for minor consume on the 600 block of Patriot Dr. NW.

SUNDAY, FEB. 23

Welfare Check, 7:07 p.m.

One arrested on Chokecherry Dr. NE.

Warrant, 6:55 p.m.

One arrived at the law enforcement center and was transported to the jail to be booked in on a warrant.

Assault, 6:08 p.m.

Deputies responded to a report of females fighting on the 1100 block of Porcupine Rd. SE in Cass Lake. Two females were arrested.

Assault, 5:03 p.m.

Report of an elderly male being assaulted including threats to hang him on the 29100 block of Cass River Rd. SE in Pennington. Deputies investigated and it was completely unfounded. An unrelated male was arrested for an outstanding Cass County felony warrant for his arrest.

Agency Assist, 1:38 p.m.

Minor damage to snowmobile after turning over on railroad tracks at Paul Bunyan Dr. and Washington Ave. S.

Snowmobile, 10:56 a.m.

Snowmobile struck tree on the 19600 block of N. Blackduck Lake Rd. NE in Hines. Operator sustained closed head injury, transported by air ambulance to hospital.

Burglary, 9:36 a.m.

Deputy responded to a burgled residence on the 3900 block of Jones Townhall Rd. NW in Solway.

Theft, 12:27 a.m.

Report of vehicle theft on the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE. After interviewing complainant, vehicle was found to be where she left it and not stolen.

SATURDAY, FEB. 22

Warrant, 8:24 p.m.

Two people arrested at a residence on the 5000 block of Theater Ln. NW for warrants.

Assault, 2:39 p.m.

Adult grandson and elderly grandfather domestic situation.

Traffic Stop, 2:28 p.m.

Driver arrested for driving after cancelled license-inimical to public safety on Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

FRIDAY, FEB. 21

Agency Assist, 11:03 p.m.

Deputies assisted Bemidji Police Department with a fight call at Patriot Drive. A female was arrested for multiple violations and a male was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Medical, 8:46 a.m.

Possible drug overdose, subject transported to ER.
