The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, Sept. 30, to Sunday, Oct. 3.
BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT
SUNDAY, OCT. 3
Alarm, 7:47 p.m.
Officers responded to a commercial panic alarm on the 400 block of Bemidji Ave. N. Adult male placed under arrest for multiple offenses.
Suspicious, 10:18 a.m.
Officer assisted caller on a suspicious animal treat on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.
Assault, 1:49 a.m.
Officer was flagged down for a large downtown brawl on the 100 block of 3rd St. NW. One male was arrested for an unrelated out-of-county warrant. There were no local charges for the brawl.
Traffic Stop, 1:04 a.m.
Traffic stop for speed on the 1300 block of 5th St. N. Driver arrested for DWI.
Warrant, 12:07 a.m.
Adult male arrested on an outstanding warrant on Ridgeway Ave. and 30th St. NW.
SATURDAY, OCT. 2
Traffic Stop, 10:54 p.m.
Traffic stop for no tail lights on Paul Bunyan Dr. and Circuit St. SW. Driver arrested.
Trespass, 10:29 p.m.
Officer issued a citation to a male following a foot pursuit for fleeing on foot and trespassing at a cemetery on Irvine Ave. and 20th St. NW after business hours.
Traffic Stop, 7:44 p.m.
Traffic stop on Bemidji Ave. and 10th St. NW. Adult male placed under arrest for multiple violations.
Assault, 12:03 p.m.
Intoxicated homeless people arguing and throwing rocks on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Individuals were initially mad at each other but later made up.
Burglary, 8:04 a.m.
Report of a burglary on the 1500 block of Birchmont Dr. NE. No suspects located.
DWI, 1:53 a.m.
Traffic stop on 3rd St. and America Ave. NW. Driver arrested for DWI.
DWI, 12:17 a.m.
Adult female placed under arrest for DWI on Highway 2 and Division St. W.
FRIDAY, OCT. 1
Accident, 6:48 p.m.
Officer took a hit-and-run collision report with no injuries on the 600 block of Washington Ave. S.
Found, 4:38 p.m.
Officer collected an abandoned firearm left at an apartment building on the 600 block of America Ave. NW. Firearm was placed into evidence as found property. No further actions taken.
Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 2:26 p.m.
Possible road rage incident reported on the 200 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Subject vehicle located unoccupied. Closed.
Drugs, 2:14 a.m.
Traffic stop on 20th St. and Delton Ave. NW. Adult male placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
Fire, 1:11 a.m.
Smoke observed by occupants on the 600 block of 3rd St. SE. Fire department responded.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 30
Disturbing the Peace, 10:02 p.m.
Officer took a report of a party complaint on the 900 block of 26th St. NW. Male working in a garage.
Assault, 9:29 p.m.
Officers responded to a report of a large brawl on the 900 block of 30th St. NW. Upon arrival, all participants were gone and unable to be located. No further actions were taken.
Drugs, 4:31 p.m.
Verbal warning for smoking marijuana on campus on the 300 block of 23rd St. NE.
Theft, 1:04 p.m.
Report by passerby of beer being stolen from a delivery truck on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. Two cases of beer recovered. No charges as store and delivery were unable to provide details needed to prove theft. One cited.
Found, 9:39 a.m.
Male arrested for possession of controlled substance and ineligible to possess a handgun after report of a suspicious bag on the 700 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.
Warrant, 7:06 a.m.
Search warrant executed for ICAC investigation on the 3900 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

SUNDAY, OCT. 3
Suspicious, 11:32 p.m.
Suspicious vehicle on the 1500 block of Old Crossing Trl. NE. Male driver arrested for DWI.
ATV, 1:20 p.m.
Stolen ATV reported on the 3000 block of Whiting Rd. NW. Deputy located ATV in nearby wooded area.
Animal, 7:36 a.m.
Report of an injured loon on the roadway on the 6500 block of Lumberjack Rd. NW. Caller volunteered to transport the animal to Northwoods Wildlife Rescue in Park Rapids.
Agency Assist, 1:04 a.m.
Assisted Bemidji Police Department with DMT operation on the 1300 block of 5th St. NW.
SATURDAY, OCT. 2
Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 11:11 p.m.
Report of a reckless vehicle on Highway 2 and Carr Lake Rd. SW. Male arrested for kidnapping warrant.
Weapons Offenses, 8:09 p.m.
No signs of distress in the area of Shorewood Ct. and Irvine Ave. NW.
Warrant, 8:07 p.m.
Subject was returned to Clearwater County on their charges of a DANCO violation.
Weapons Offenses, 7:32 p.m.
Report of sound of gunshots on the 4900 block of Kappes Ln. SE in Cass Lake. Area checked multiple times by Leech Lake officers and deputies, nothing found.
Weapons Offenses, 11:44 a.m.
Subject of illegal goose hunting complaint located on the 6100 block of Mid-Valley Ln. NW. DNR will conduct follow-up.
Assault, 2:37 a.m.
Female was assaulted by a male at their residence on Midson Ln. SE. Male was arrested and held at the jail.
FRIDAY, OCT. 1
Warrant, 3:12 p.m.
Warrant arrest without incident on the 2100 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE.
Assist, 11:34 a.m.
Deputies responded to assist with a pursuit on Aure Rd. and Clearline Rd. NW in Puposky. Pursuit turned back onto Red Lake Reservation prior to entering the county. No action taken.
Burglary, 9:37 a.m.
Report of a storage unit burglary on the 500 block of Clark Ave. S in Kelliher.
Traffic Stop, 1:13 a.m.
Traffic stop on Mission Rd. and Roosevelt Rd. SE in Cass Lake. Driver arrested for DWI.
THURSDAY, SEPT. 30
Burglary, 5:39 p.m.
Residential burglary reported on the 6900 block of Lumberjack Rd. NW in Puposky.
Traffic Stop, 2:42 a.m.
Male arrested for fourth-degree DWI on S. Twin Lake Rd. Ne and Hales Rd. NE in Tenstrike.
