Bemidji Weekend Blotter: April 16-April 19

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Sunday, April 19, to Thursday, April 16.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, APRIL 19

Traffic Stop, 9:48 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Driver cited for driving after revocation, forwarding charges on passenger for possession of narcotics.

Security Check, 5:55 p.m.

A business reported they were terminating their cleaning service contract for inappropriate actions. Extra patrol was requested at the 2300 block of Bemidji Ave. N. during the night.

Drugs, 5:28 p.m.

Officers were advised to contact a party regarding drug trafficking information. Officers attempted to contact the party and ultimately left a voicemail.

Disturbing the Peace, 4:51 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of loud music on the 3900 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Officers identified the source of the noise and asked them to turn it down.

Burglary, 4:14 p.m.

An officer responded to a burglary complaint on the 600 block of 38th St. NW.

Traffic Stop, 12:49 a.m.

Traffic stop on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S. One arrested for DWI.

SATURDAY, APRIL 18

Disturbing the Peace, 10:28 p.m.

An officer responded to a noise complaint on the 4100 block of Whispering Meadows Ct. NW. The subject was instructed to keep their music down.

Disorderly Conduct, 2:12 p.m.

An intoxicated individual was checked on and advised to keep properly attired to assist in preventing the spread of the virus on the 500 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S.

Property Damage, 12:00 p.m.

Property damage to a residence on the 600 block of 40th St. NW overnight.

Property, 9:29 a.m.

Found property possibly came from neighbor’s garage on the 600 block of 39th St. NW.

Fraud, 8:48 a.m.

Subject in Baudette mailed money order to Florida for a rental property in Bemidji. Property was advertised on Craigslist. Officer advised caller to report it to Craigslist, and as it is interstate, it would be FBI jurisdiction and referred her to the State Attorney’s office.

FRIDAY, APRIL 17

Theft, 10:42 p.m.

Officer took a report of vehicle theft on the 1200 block of 30th St. NW.

Fire, 7:36 p.m.

An officer checked on a bonfire on the 1400 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE. The fire was contained and monitored.

Burglary, 6:44 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of burglary on the 2500 block of Minnesota Ave. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 3:33 p.m.

Intoxicated, disorderly individuals were provided guidance on modifying behavior to better conform with laws and societal norms on the 300 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 3:09 p.m.

Report of subjects causing a ruckus on the 1100 block of America Ave. NW. They agreed to keep moving.

Burglary, 11:00 a.m.

Possible burglary reported on the 3900 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

Assault, 3:48 a.m.

Officer responded to a report of a domestic. One arrested.

Burglary, 3:35 a.m.

Officer responded to a report of suspicious activity on the 3600 block of Tamarack Ave. NW. Officer was advised burglary occurred.

Drugs, 12:53 a.m.

Officers executed a search warrant on a hotel room on the 2400 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Officers seized drugs and paraphernalia.

THURSDAY, APRIL 16

Disturbing the Peace, 7:13 p.m.

Officers informed a gathering of people to disperse and practice social distancing on the 2500 block of Phoenix Loop NW.

DWI, 6:30 p.m.

Male arrested for DUI on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Disorderly Conduct, 5:11 p.m.

Officer responded to a request to remove a party from premises on the 600 block of Patriot Dr. NW. Individual located and removed. One arrested.

Theft, 12:45 p.m.

An individual reported a theft on the 1000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. S.

Public Relations, 8:30 a.m.

Ongoing discussions with business owner over essential work on the 1500 block of Bemidji Ave. N.

DWI, 3:40 a.m.

Traffic stop on Irvine Ave. and Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Passenger given a courtesy ride home, driver arrested.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, APRIL 19

Civil, 7:16 p.m.

Report of trespassing and theft on the 5000 block of Wolf Creek Rd. NE. Determined to be an ongoing civil issue between township and land owners.

Disorderly Conduct, 5:58 p.m.

Report of female acting strangely, knocking on people’s doors on the 5600 block of Alps Ct. NW. Female located, under the influence, and returned to her house.

Theft, 11:30 a.m.

Theft of boards and tarp from property reported on the 4500 block of N. Grace Lake Rd. SE.

Theft, 11:11 a.m.

Deputies responded to a theft complaint on the 1100 block of Carr Lake Rd. SW.

Theft, 12:28 a.m.

Vehicle signed stolen from Plantation Rd. and Mission Rd. SE in Cass Lake. Recovered in Itasca County.

Burglary, 12:10 a.m.

Deputies responded to a possible burglary on the 600 block of Main St. SW in Wilton.

SATURDAY, APRIL 18

Suspicious, 8:30 p.m.

Report of two suspicious people, possibly casing a residence on the 300 block of Paul Miller Ln. NW. Checked area, unable to locate subjects.

Found, 7:56 p.m.

Deputies contacted about a possibly stolen trailer on Wilton Hill Rd. and Beaver Pass Ln. NW.

Burglary, 3:42 p.m.

Deputies responded to a reported burglary on the 8800 block of Irvine Ave. NW. Suspects were found entering a storage unit they had a key for. Male party was trespassed.

Theft, 12:29 p.m.

Theft of electricity reported on the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE.

Warrant, 12:44 a.m.

Beltrami Warrant taken into custody from Bagley.

FRIDAY, APRIL 17

Public Relations, 4:30 p.m.

Caller requesting a squad drive-by for a child’s birthday on the 4600 block of Grange Rd. NW.

Assault, 11:31 a.m.

Deputy responded to assault call on the 600 block of Nordic Ave. NW.

Burglary, 11:29 a.m.

Deputies responded to a burglary of an outbuilding on the 13900 block of Trengove Rd. NW in Solway.

Theft, 11:18 a.m.

Deputies responded to a theft from a vehicle complaint on the 4600 block of Birdsview Ln.NW.

Weapons Offenses, 10:01 a.m.

Felony arrest of male for firearm possession, reckless discharge and child endangerment on the 1200 block of Little Norway Ave. SE.

Assault, 4:02 a.m.

911 open line. Deputies responded and investigated a domestic assault. Adult female was placed under arrest for domestic assault.

THURSDAY, APRIL 16

911, 11:54 p.m.

Report of an argument between male and female. One arrested for DWI on the 8700 block of Country Club Rd. NE.

Burglary, 8:03 p.m.

Deputies responded to a burglary in process on the 14100 block of Herman Dr. NW in Solway.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 3:50 p.m.

Deputies responded to a complaint of a reckless vehicle at the fairgrounds. Vehicle was located, occupants warned.
