Bemidji Weekend Blotter: April 23 to April 26

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to from Thursday, April 23, to Sunday, April 26.

BEMIDJI POLICE DEPARTMENT

SUNDAY, APRIL 26

Trespass, 9:51 a.m.

Adult female arrested for trespass on the 1800 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

DWI, 7:26 p.m.

Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in a possible domestic assault. Driver arrested for DUI on Irvine Ave. and Majestic Pines Ln. NW.

Property Damage, 7:05 p.m.

Caller reported property damage to their peddle bike. Front and back tire slashed with a knife on the 2600 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW.

Suspicious, 6:17 p.m.

Caller reported three individuals acting suspicious on the 1700 block of Birchmont Dr. NE.

Agency Assist, 1:30 p.m.

Officers assisted another agency with a domestic. Adult male arrested for felony domestic assault. No danger assessment performed/not an intimate partner.

Drugs, 12:23 p.m.

Report of drug sales on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW from a person wishing to remain confidential.

Burglary, 11:10 a.m.

Burglary of an occupied residence reported on the 900 block of Minnesota Ave. NW.

Burglary, 7:21 a.m.

Unfounded, renter was locked out of residence on the 1600 block of Irvine Ave. NW.

SATURDAY, APRIL 25

Suspicious, 7:11 p.m.

Officer responded to a report of possible suspicious activity on the 2700 block of Minnesota Ave. NW. Subjects involved were advised not to walk through private yards.

Harassment, 6:08 p.m.

Officer took a report of neighbors mutually harassing each other on the 2600 block of Birchmont Dr. NE.

Warrant, 12:30 p.m.

Adult male arrested for an outstanding warrant on the 400 block of Railroad St. SW.

Weapons Offenses, 7:06 a.m.

Unknown subject with possible weapon in the area of 2800 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Officers checked area and landlord was unable to find any video of subject.

DWI, 5:21 a.m.

Traffic stop on the 700 block of 18th St. NW. Driver arrested for DWI.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24

Disorderly Conduct, 1:40 p.m.

Remove intoxicated subject from residence. One arrested on the 2900 block of Pine Ridge Ave. NW.

Fire, 11:44 a.m.

Assisted Bemidji Fire Department with small fire that appeared to have spread from a fire ring to surround grass on the 1100 block of Park Ave. NW.

Disturbing the Peace, 1:52 a.m.

A female was cited for disorderly conduct on the 2900 block of Pine Ridge Ave. NW. One arrested.

Warrant, 1:46 a.m.

Officers made contact with a vehicle that displayed expired tabs on the 2900 block of Ridgeway Ave. NW. Driver arrested for felony warrant.

Agency Assist, 12:09 a.m.

Assist BCSO with a warrant arrest during a property damage complaint on the 5600 block of Alps Ct. NW. Male subject arrested and caused damage to squad.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23

Traffic Stop, 10:52 p.m.

Traffic stop on the 2600 block of Delton Ave. NW. Driver arrested for driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety.

Burglary, 9:40 p.m.

Officer was advised by renter that someone stole pizzas out of their freezer when they were gone on the 2400 block of Bemidji Ave. N.

Airport, 12:26 p.m.

No passengers on flight.

Warrant, 9:05 a.m.

An individual was arrested on a warrant on the 1800 block of Gregg Ct. SW.

DWI, 12:14 a.m.

Traffic stop on 15th St. and Bixby Ave. NE. Adult female arrested for DWI.

BELTRAMI COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

SUNDAY, APRIL 26

Disorderly Conduct, 5:44 p.m.

First degree burglary, second degree assault, fleeing and obstruction reported on the 19700 block of Plantation Rd. SE in Cass Lake. PC to arrest sent out.

Disturbing the Peace, 3:44 p.m.

Deputies responded to a noise complaint on the 4300 block of Sunset Meadows Rd. SW. Determined to be neighbors target practicing.

Assault, 1:30 p.m.

One arrested on the 2100 block of Roosevelt Rd. SE.

Fire, 11:50 a.m.

Deputies responded to a small brush fire on the 2000 block of Becida Rd. SW. Bemidji Fire Department finished extinguishing the fire.

Hazards (dangerous), 8:15 a.m.

Deputy spoke with an individual who had their dock pulled into the lake due to it being placed on the ice on the 6300 block of Tall Pines Rd. NE.

SATURDAY, APRIL 25

Assist, 9:16 p.m.

Assist state patrol on Highway 71 and 3rd Ave N in Tenstrike. One arrested.

Assault, 8:45 p.m.

Deputies responded to report of an assault in progress on the 900 block of Porcupine Rd. SE in Cass Lake.

Fire, 7:16 p.m.

Fire reported on the 51000 block of Co. Rd. 29.

Fire, 3:41 p.m.

Fire reported on the 12200 block of Sharp Rock Rd. NE in Tenstrike.

Burglary, 3:36 p.m.

Burglary of a seasonal cabin on the 600 block of Centerpoint Ct. NW.

Snowmobile, 10:25 a.m.

Deputy responded to the report of a snowmobile in the water on Upper Red Lake. Snowmobile was being removed from water along shoreline upon arrival. No need for further assistance.

Assault, 3:12 a.m.

Report of domestic assault. Male arrested for DWI in Cass Lake.

FRIDAY, APRIL 24

Welfare Check, 5:52 p.m.

Assist Leech Lake PD with a welfare check on male subject on the 1900 block of Cass Bluff Loop Rd. SE in Cass Lake. One arrested.

Assault, 4:11 p.m.

Deputies responded to an assault on the 13300 block of Trengove Rd. NW in Solway. One arrested.

Civil, 4:05 p.m.

Trees uprooted and taken from complainant’s property on the 38500 block of Willow Creek Rd. NE in Kelliher.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 2:56 p.m.

Driver arrested by MSP for DWI on Theater Ln. and Highway 2 NW.

Suspicious, 12:09 a.m.

Disturbance in Elpine Village. One party arrested.

THURSDAY, APRIL 23

Welfare Check, 7:15 p.m.

Female party dropped off near resort on Lakeshore Ln. and 167th St. NW in Cass Lake. She was arrested by Cass County Sheriff’s Office for burglary, mental health issues.

Agency Assist, 1:35 p.m.

Deputies assisted Bemidji Police Department with fleeing shoplifter. Deputies located suspect vehicle on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Dr. NW. Adult female driver arrested for DWI and possession of a controlled substance.

Theft, 11:34 a.m. 

Report of a stolen homemade trailer on the 26000 Alvwood Rd. NE in Blackduck.

Public Relations, 11:25 a.m.

Deputy answered questions regarding vehicle registration expiring during COVID-19 pandemic.
