Bemidji woman pleads guilty to simple robbery conspiracy in February shooting incident

A Bemidji woman entered a guilty plea to conspiracy to commit simple robbery this morning.

According to court documents, 19-year-old Deja Mattison was initially charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery as well, but that charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal.

Mattison and another woman, Lauryn Jones, are accused of conspiring to rob 19-year-old Antonio Parkhurst at a home on Minnesota Avenue last February, which ended in a gunshot death for one young man and an injury to a juvenile male.

Parkhurst’s homicide charges were dismissed and he was convicted of a weapons offense.

Jones is scheduled to make her next court appearance in August, and has not yet entered a plea.
