The Blackduck Community Library Board is the most recent winner of Beltrami Electric’s Touchstone Energy Community Award.

According to a release, the award recognizes organizations for their commitment to their communities and comes with a cash award and an engraved plaque.

The Blackduck Library Board, according to a release, was created more than 50 years ago and has eight members, in addition to a city representative.

“The community and surrounding area take great pride in this cozy little library,” said Kelly Hanks, branch manager. “We are so happy to see everything that the Library Board is doing in our community.”

The Library Board has hosted or sponsored programs such as the “Backwoods Bash,” trunk or treating events, after-school movie nights, as well as craft and reading programs for adults and children alike.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the support we provide, not only to the library but to the community,” said Paula Erickson, board president.

“We couldn’t say thank you enough!”
