UPDATED: Victim identified in Lake Irving drowning

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a body was removed from Lake Irving Monday evening.

According to an updated release, the victim was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 58-year-old James W. Wizner of Bemidji.

Deputies responded to the 660 acre lake Saturday afternoon on a report that a vehicle had fallen through an area known to have unstable ice.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Bemidji Fire Department, Bemidji Police Department, the Minnesota DNR Conservation Enforcement, Red Lake Conservation Enforcement and the volunteers with the Lakes Area Dive Team.
