Gov. Tim Walz announced he will sign the “Local Jobs and Projects Plan” into law this afternoon.
The plan includes what is commonly referred to as the bonding bill, and grants the City of Bemidji over $10.1 million for a water treatment plant already under construction.
The bonding package also includes dollars for the Northwest Indian Community Development Center, and funding for the city of Deer River’s wastewater treatment facility.
The nearly $2 billion package includes about $1.3 billion in general obligation bonding, a tax relief program for farmers and small businesses, funding for low-income housing and $31 million in supplemental general fund budget spending.
