Breast Cancer Awareness month events

By: News Director Larissa Donovan

BEMIDJI–Several area businesses and organizations are supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bemidji State University Beavers will take to the ice this weekend for the annual “Pink the Rink”, with auction proceeds of 55 pink limited edition jerseys benefiting the local Edith Sanford Breast Center, and Marketplace Foods will hold their annual Power of Pink promotion next Wednesday, where they will be selling pink-frosted bakery goods, with 10 percent donated to the Center.

Several local hair salons will offer clip-in or temporary pink hair streaks for $25 each, with proceeds from the month-long event also supporting the Center.

These proceeds will reportedly help all those in our community that cannot afford mammograms.
