BSU, NTC require masks in campus buildings

Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College will require masks in campus buildings at least through this month. According to a notice, the requirement will officially be in effect Aug. 10-31, with the situation re-evaluated on Aug. 30.

The two Minnesota State campuses do not plan to alter other campus operations, such as returning to remote work or alternate course delivery.

The CDC says Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater and Hubbard counties all have substantial COVID transmission.

The CDC recommends masking in indoor places regardless of vaccination status in areas of substantial or high COVID transmission.

Beltrami County’s positivity rate is now over the five percent caution threshold, at 5.82 percent, more than three points higher than it was a few days ago.
