Bemidji State University officially welcomed 39 students into the four-year track nursing program with an induction ceremony earlier this week.
The student nurses signed the Nightingale Pledge in front of family and friends after their name badges were ceremoniously placed on their nursing polos by faculty.
The Nightingale Pledge, named after the pioneer of modern hygienic nursing practices Florence Nightingale, holds students to behave ethically, honestly, professionally, and with integrity; and to safeguard the health and welfare of their future patients.
