Cannon Falls man charged with theft by swindle

A Cannon Falls man has been charged with theft by swindle for allegedly stealing $8,000 from a Park Rapids bar and grill.

According to the complaint, 38-year-old Scott Sandberg and his company, S&S Customs, received a check to perform construction renovations to Bogey’s Bar and Grill.

The work reportedly never began.

The check was issued last May, and a partner of Sandberg’s told investigators that materials for the renovation project never arrived.

Sandberg was initially charged in November in Hubbard County court, and will make his next court appearance Feb. 10.
