Cass Lake man charged with burglary, assaulting police

BEMIDJI–A Cass Lake man will appear in court Monday on charges of first degree burglary, damage to property and assaulting a police officer.

According to the criminal complaint, 21-year-old Vincent Alonzo Hall broke into a Beltrami County home Tuesday morning around 1 a.m.

Bemidji Police Officers responded to the home on report of a man banging on the back door. A struggle ensued when officers apprehended Hall, who tackled an officer, forcing him to land in broken glass from the break-in.

The home’s residents were sleeping when the break-in occurred.

Hall is currently in Beltrami County custody, with unconditional bail set at $50,000.
