Twenty-one-year-old Scott Schulman is facing one count of second-degree murder for hitting 53-year-old Burgess Palmore multiple times in the head with a two-by-four.

Schulman, according to the complaint, attempted to run from deputies but tripped on a barbed-wire fence.
Palmore was discovered in the garage lying in a pool of blood.
He died of blunt trauma to the head, according to the medical examiner.
Schulman is also accused of kicking a deputy as they were taking him into custody.
Schulman admitted in a Mirandized statement that he had been drinking vodka and that a “bad spirit” had gotten him.
Schulman made his first court appearance Friday.
He is currently held in custody without bond for violating the terms of his probation.
