City Council to consider declaring at-large council seat vacancy

The Bemidji City Council is anticipated to declare a vacancy for the at-large seat during their meeting Monday.

Current at-large council member Jim Thompson has been absent for the past four regular council meetings, which have been held electronically.

The City Charter says a council member may be removed if they miss three consecutive meetings in a row without an excused absence, and the council must vote five-to-seven to remove that member.

Other business includes a discussion on rifle hunting within the city limits and consider allowing league play for the Bemidji Area Softball Association.
