Applications for special archery hunt permits are now being accepted.
According to a notice from the City of Bemidji, there will be three white-tailed deer archery hunts within the City limits. The Ward 4 and Ward 5 hunts will follow the state archery season, Sept. 19, through Dec. 31.
The Airport hunt will have a shorter time window, from Oct 1. through Nov. 30.
Since these are considered special archery hunts, the State will allow hunters to harvest up to five deer.
Statewide bag limits apply so if a buck is harvested in the special hunt, that’s the only one permitted under state hunting laws.
Hunters are responsible for their appropriate hunting licenses and other permits to participate.
Applications must be received by July 30, and the application fee is $10.
