Clearwater County investigating two deaths in Rice Lake

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office does not believe two recent deaths in the Rice Lake community are related.

According to a release, deputies responded late in the night of March 4 on the report of a partially clothed male lying in the roadway in Rice Lake. Life-saving measures were performed but the 44-year-old male was declared dead at the Sanford Bagley Medical Center.

The next day, around 9 in the morning on March 5, first responders were again called to the Rice Lake community for another unresponsive male. Life-saving measures were performed but the 15-year-old male was declared dead at Sanford Bagley.

The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office says both incidents appear to be isolated with no danger to the public.

Out of respect for the families, community members are asked not to speculate on social media about who the involved victims are.

Anyone with information on either case can contact the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office at 218-694-6226.
