Construction on Highway 1 planned for July 25

MnDOT’s project on Highway 1 east of Red Lake will begin July 25.

According to a release, the project will include culvert replacements and turn lane improvements between Red Lake and Reservation Highway 18.

Drivers can expect staged detours, bypass lanes and lane closures.

Red Lake Builders is the contractor for the project which is expected to be complete by October, weather permitting.

This project will also include resurfacing in 2023.

Once complete, MnDOT says the highway will have safer intersections and improved drainage.

As always, proceed with caution in and around all work zones.
