COVID-19 cases around the state and locally appear to be on the rise.
Beltrami County Public Health said Friday that they were actively monitoring 77 cases of COVID-19, with a new case rate of around 30 per 10,000 people for the two-week period ending April 8.
Since Friday, the Minnesota Department of Health reported 20 new cases in Beltrami County.
Since the pandemic began, COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 57 county residents and infected over 3,600.
Gov. Tim Walz announced Sunday that over 2 million Minnesotans have received at least one vaccine.
“Getting vaccinated will allow us to get back to the people we love and the things we have missed — and put an end to this pandemic,” said Walz.
“I am so grateful that 2 million Minnesotans have rolled up their sleeves, taken their shot, and put us on the path back to normalcy. We are working tirelessly to get vaccines to all Minnesotans who need them, and if everyone gets a shot when they are able, we will put this pandemic behind us and enjoy the brighter days we know are ahead.”
Beltrami County, as of Friday, was reporting nearly 17,000 residents receiving at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 12,000 completing the series.
