COVID-19 updates for Friday, Jan. 7

As of yesterday, Beltrami County Public Health was monitoring 234 active cases of COVID-19 with seven county residents hospitalized.

Over a 14-day period, the department reported 310 new cases. The county has had nearly 9,000 COVID infections with more than 8,500 currently out of isolation.

There have been 111 deaths within the county since the pandemic began.

The Minnesota Department of Health reported 35 new cases in Beltrami Thursday, 18 in Cass County, six in Clearwater County and 10 in Hubbard County.

One Hubbard County death was also reported Thursday, a resident in their early 70s.

On Friday, MDH reported 32 new Beltrami County cases, 25 Cass County cases, two Clearwater cases and 20 Hubbard cases.

Two area COVID deaths were also reported Friday, a Cass County resident in their early 70s and a Clearwater resident in their late 80s.
