COVID-19 updates for Monday, Aug. 30

More than 1,900 new COVID cases were reported in the state Friday, along with six new deaths.

Twenty-eight of those cases were in Beltrami County, 13 in Cass, three in Clearwater, and 10 in Hubbard.

Another 1,902 new COVID-19 cases and six new deaths were reported in the state today.

Of those cases, 48 were in Beltrami County, 13 in Cass, four in Clearwater, and 13 in Hubbard.

Beltrami County Public Health Director Megan Heuer reported Monday that there were 190 active COVID-19 cases in Beltrami County.

Heuer also noted 13 local COVID hospitalizations, with six of them being Beltrami County residents.

According to MDH’s weekly report, Beltrami, Cass, and Hubbard counties continue to be around 6 percent test positivity, around the state’s average, while Clearwater County’s test positivity rate is around 8 percent.

More than 70 percent of the 18 and older Beltrami County population has gotten at least one COVID-19 vaccine.

Around 57 percent of the eligible, 12 and older population is fully vaccinated within the county.
